Abstract

Business Process Modeling (BPM) is the set of principles that uses knowledge from different domains of business. There is a gap with the fragmented healthcare which stores data in a traditional format in a very complex manner. This will lead to the changes in technologies and the approaches for practicing BPM. Continuous improvements in the processes are becoming important in the hospital, because of challenges related to disparate platforms, systems, demographic changes, and the way the processes have been set up while increasing costs over the period. Deployment of latest technological approaches like machine learning, natural language processing (NLP) or text synthesis on an electronic patient records. The simulated modeling that will be done as a part of this research will enable a coherent structure using the process and domain knowledge from medical coding experts to develop an AI assisted platform.
