Abstract

IoT (Internet of Things) has been slowly incorporated into healthcare as compared to other industries, but IoT can improve health and safety, and reduce healthcare costs. The present paper proposes an IoT-based smart healthcare system based on an intelligent medicine device with sensors and servers for monitoring the health regularly. Smart medicine boxes equipped with wireless internet connectivity make it easier for patients to keep track of their health and communicate easily with their doctors. With this medicine box, the patient will be reminded to take the right medicine at the right time by receiving an email reminder. Doctor and patient details, prescriptions, and appointment dates are stored on a laptop as a server. For accessing the server, both doctors and patients need IDs and passwords. Furthermore, the server stores information about medication and temperature of patients so the doctor can easily access them. In this box email is used for notification if a doctor suggests any changes in their prescription and if there is any emergency a possible action can be taken immediately.
