Abstract

SD-WAN is a technology that is being considered currently as one that could revolutionize the way that organizations use their WAN services. By providing better quality of services and avoiding data loss, this technology is being seen as being very beneficial for businesses. Auto-Discovery VPN helps the central hub keep track of the best routes for traffic between multiple branches. Engineers were concerned about how to best manage traffic between all the different branches.

This paper attempts to justify the need for SD-WAN by proposing an architecture and testing its performance by measuring latency, jitter, and transaction delay results. This study is based on simulations of a Fortigate firewall infrastructure.
