Abstract

Agile performance management is an approach to managing employee performance that emphasizes continuous feedback, collaboration, and flexibility. In an agile performance management system, performance goals are set collaboratively, and feedback is provided frequently and in real-time. The focus is on identifying and addressing performance issues early on, rather than waiting until an annual review. Agile performance management aims to promote a culture of continuous improvement, employee engagement, and accountability. It helps employees feel more involved in the goal-setting and performance evaluation process, which can increase their motivation, satisfaction, and productivity. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of an agile performance management system on employees' perception in information technology (IT) companies. This study used a mixed-methods approach, including both qualitative and quantitative methods, to collect and analyze data from employees in IT companies who have experienced an agile performance management system. The survey data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics to determine the impact of the agile performance management system on employee perception. The qualitative data collected through interviews was analyzed using thematic analysis to provide more in-depth insights into the impact of the agile performance management system. The results of this study suggest that employees in IT companies perceive an agile performance management system positively. The agile performance management system is perceived to increase employee engagement, motivation, and job satisfaction. Employees also perceive that the agile performance management system improves communication between employees and managers, leading to more frequent feedback and more opportunities for learning and development. The study also identified some challenges associated with implementing an agile performance management system, including resistance to change and difficulty in setting clear goals. Overall, this study contributes to the understanding of the impact of agile performance management systems in the IT industry and provides insights into how to successfully implement such systems. The findings suggest that agile performance management systems can improve employee perception and, consequently, organizational performance.
