Abstract

Information and communication technologies became an important segment of the teaching learning process especially during the times of COVID. The application of ICT in the field of any system of education does not mean innovation. Most of the educational institutions are making the use of Information Communication Technology in the delivery of educational services as well as in the administrative services. The impact of the use of ICT in the classroom teaching on students' mathematics academic performance has always been a controversial topic. The present paper firstly discusses the positive and negative influence of the use of ICT in the higher education system of Punjab. Further studies about the impact on the academic performance of the students and then explain about the types of activities and software’s to be used by teachers in order to enhance the mathematical abilities and skills of the students and lastly tells about the challenges faced by teachers and students in the implementation of ICT in the teaching learning process.
