Abstract

Based on resolving a pair of contradiction between spur suppressio and fast frequency conversion in an frequeney-hopped (FH) synthesizer, a single loop UHF frequency-hopped synthesizer is introduced, in this paper, and its performances and effects in FSK-FH commu- nication are analyzed; In addition, a phase model for spurious signals in FH synthesizer is de- veloped and the spur effects in an FSK-FH system are systematically investigated. Still fur- ther, a new method to compute a spur suppression ratio in fast FH communication techniques is presented. In accord with the common views on the spur suppression ratio, it concludes that the spur suppression ratio must be at least greater than 50 dB in normal FH communica- tion systems, and the result has reference value in the design of FH communication systems.
